Junior International Mobility Officer
Nuffic Southeast Asia is an overseas office of Nuffic, the Netherlands expertise and service centre for internationalisation in education. Nuffic Southeast Asia is supporting Dutch and EU knowledge diplomacy in Southeast Asia, accommodating and engaging the network of the Netherlands' Knowledge Sector in support of the quality of education and knowledge development, trade and investment and social and cultural connectivity between the Netherlands/EU and Southeast Asia, with the SDGs as overall goal-setting framework. The geographic scope of work of the office are the Members States of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
The key activities of Nuffic Southeast Asia are:
• Support institutional cooperation between Indonesian and Dutch higher and vocational education institution
• Support and implement activities on behalf of the NL Knowledge House (see: https://nlkh.org)
• Coordinate the organization of the Week of Indonesia-Netherlands Education and Research (WINNER – see: www.winner.or.id)
• Support Netherlands (NL) Alumni networks and Indonesian/Southeast Asia knowledge community in the Netherlands, to be involved in social, cultural, trade and investment relationships
• Manage Tailor Made Training, short courses and scholarship programmes
• Coordinate education, knowledge and exchange projects
• Support qualified two-way student mobility between Southeast Asia and the Netherlands
• Provide information on study programmes and internship places for Dutch students in Southeast Asia
• Support Connectivity between the Netherlands/European Union and Southeast Asia
Junior International Mobility Officer
The main task of the Junior International Mobility Officer is to prepare and implement various programmes, projects and related activities that support the mobility of students to and from the Netherlands, and within the ASEAN region. This includes the preparation and implementation of scholarship and capacity building programmes, through various modalities such as master courses, short courses, and tailor-made training programmes. Student mobility is one of the key components in the internationalization of higher education. For most of the students, the opportunity to study abroad is considered as a once in a lifetime opportunity. The mobility officer is expected to support maintaining relationships with key Dutch and Indonesian/Southeast Asian stakeholders in the mutual knowledge collaboration. The geographic scope of this function will have an emphasis on Indonesia and Vietnam, and a to a lesser extent, the Philippines, Thailand and Singapore. The Officer is expected to contribute to generic communications and participate in event organization and other activities of Nuffic Southeast Asia.
Responsibilities:
Provide information and support to various stakeholders in Indonesia and the Netherlands
Assess scholarship, short course and Tailor Made Training applications
Handle overall daily administration with regard to the management of programmes and projects
Provide student counseling (online, phone, one-on-one)
Implement specific scholarship-related events, online and offline
Establish and maintain regular communication with various stakeholders (applicants, awardees, Dutch, Southeast Asian Higher Education Institutions and Indonesian stakeholders)
Regularly review the procedures and requirements of mobility programmes and suggest necessary adjustments
Provide relevant information to the Team Coordinator for report-writing; monitoring and evaluation purposes
Report to the Mobility Coordinator on a daily basis and periodically to the Director.
Requirements:
Minimal Bachelor's degree (S1)
Minimum of 2-3 years working experience in a relevant position
Excellent English communication skills in speaking and writing
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Computer literate especially in MS office applications
Experience with studying abroad and/or living in the Netherlands preferred
Knowledge of thematic areas within the framework of bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and the Netherlands and the regional cooperation between the EU and ASEAN would be an advantage. These include agriculture-green transformation, water, circular economy, public health and security and rule of law
Able to work in a team and independently
Remuneration:
The successful candidate will be offered a monthly salary commensurate with the personal qualifications and experience. Other applicable benefits include medical benefits, various paid leaves in accordance with Indonesian Labour Law and an annual wage supplement equivalent to a month's salary. Please note that this position is a local engagement and does not come with a mobility package. This is a fixed-term position with an initial contract duration of 8 (eight) months reflecting the current the availability of funding and depending on the candidate's performance.
