[newdevjobsindo] BBC Media Action Vacancy: Head of Production (Based: Jakarta)

BBC Media Action uses the power of media and communication to help reduce poverty and support people in understanding their rights. To achieve this, we partner with civil society, local media and governments to:

·       Produce creative programmes in multi-media formats which inform and engage audiences;

·       Strengthen the media sector through building professional capacity and infrastructure.

BBC Media Action established a country office in Indonesia in late 2018. Our work currently focusses on engaging urban Indonesian youth on the choices facing the country around sustainable development and climate change, including energy, water, agriculture, and forests. Through our local partners, a series of social media outputs, TV programme, and a discussion programme are produced to achieve this. As part of BBC Media Action climate program in Indonesia, a social media brand called "AksiKita," meaning "OUR ACTION", is established. This platform engages young audiences nationwide, encouraging them to advocate for sustainable development. We are also working with several media organisations to strengthen their understanding of the issue and engagement triggers for the audience, to provide a platform for open dialogue on the subject. Our business development efforts also focus on projects that will allow us to work further on climate change, disaster risk reduction, governance and rights for indigenous communities, and further strengthening the Indonesian media sector, and develop audience facing content on mis/dis-information.
