The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations on behalf of the German Government.
As GIZ ASEAN, we implement regional capacity-building and policy advisory projects while being present in eight ASEAN member states. The Head of GIZ ASEAN Cluster is based in ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta.
We are seeking 1 (one) qualified Indonesian candidate for the following position:
Trainee for Public Relations
- Support ASEAN Cluster in outreach activities and implementation of ASEAN Cluster Strategy and restructuring of the Cluster with focus on visibility.
- Support preparation of workshops, team meetings of GIZ Indonesia and ASEAN Cluster, e.g., World Environment Day, Country Conference.
- Support in creation of materials and written releases for communication for ASEAN Cluster, e.g., project sheets, thematical sheets.
- Support the creation of digital formats and tools for knowledge management.
- Support research of media landscape in Indonesia and ASEAN region for thematical publications, as well as publications by partner organizations.
- Support the collection, compilation, and management of communication materials and technical documentation (technical reports, meeting notes, pictures, etc.), both internally and externally.
- Compile social media content for communications-related activities.
The traineeship program will provide benefits to deepen the trainee's knowledge on ASEAN GIZ cooperation and a variety of topics on sustainability, such as solid waste management, energy transition, as well as practical experience on the working environment in international cooperation.
Formal Education
- Strong knowledge and familiarity on sustainability, international cooperation, international relations, ASEAN regional context
- Basic knowledge of GIZ's work and context of international development cooperation.
- Knowledge on Indonesia's and international media landscape and/or public narrative will be an advantage.
- Experience in public relations, marketing, journalism, social media management are assets.
- Strong interest to work on issues related to sustainable development, (e.g., Solid Waste Management, Energy Transition, Urban Mobility)
- Good communication, organisational and project management skills
- Good command of Ms. Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience with picture editing software/application is an advantage.
- Proficiency in English and excellent writing skills is a MUST.
- Ability to work in a team and to adapt to an international working environment.

Duty Station: Jakarta
Working Hours: 5 working days per week, 8 working hours per day
Expected Joining Date: 15 March 2024 – 14 September 2024
Period of Traineeship: 6 months
