The Indonesian-German Forests and Climate Change Programme (FORCLIME) supports the Indonesian Government and relevant public and private actors in developing and implementing the institutional and regulatory framework, methods and services for sustainable forest management, nature conservation and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation and forest degradation.
GIZ has been working with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry through Forest and Climate Change Programme (FORCLIME) to Support the government of Indonesia, public actors and relevant private sectors in developing and implementing institutional and regulatory frameworks, methods and services for sustainable forest management, nature conservation and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation and forest degradation since 2009.
FORCLIME is seeking 1 trainee - Indonesian candidates - for the following position:
Information and Knowledge Management Trainee
A. Responsibilities
General tasks and organization support
The aim of a traineeship with the FORCLIME Project is to give the trainee an insight into the inner workings of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and its project implementation. The tasks are subject to change depending on the project activities. Thus, the trainee will participate in many project activities, not as an observer, but assisting in specific tasks (organization, research, note taking, providing critical feedback, etc.). Soft skills required in that position include enhanced ability for teamwork, flexibility, organization, initiative, and very good communication skills.
The following tasks provide a framework and can be adjusted during the traineeship:
- The trainee is supporting of checking and translating deliverables of hired consultants as well as correspondence with partners (i.e. letters, brochures etc.), and ensure the correct DMS record management filing.
- The trainee shall support the Information and Knowledge Management officer in the archiving outreach documents (reports, books, etc) including filling Table of FORCLIME publications on the Publication GIZ Indonesia and Timor Leste. In addition, also archiving of relevant photos in the DMS.
C. Required qualifications and competences
- Currently enrolled as student at Indonesian university (preferable in forestry, environmental sciences, development studies or another relevant fields) or maximum 1 year after graduating from university
- knowledge in forestry-related and/or climate change-related project in Indonesia is an advantage
- Full business proficiency language skills in English
- Good communication, networking, and coordination skills
- Familiarity with translation application and tools is an advantage
- Familiarity with publishing software
- The trainee needs to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information in the documents being translated. The trainee needs to adhere to the organization's data protection and provacy policies.
