SurfAid is a non-profit organization which aims to improve the health, wellbeing and self-reliance of people living in isolated regions connected to us through surfing. SurfAid is currently working in a few locations in Indonesia: Mentawai Island District in West Sumatera, Sumba Barat and Rote Ndao Districts in NTT. We work in the areas that are considered the most remote, with limited infrastructure and few community empowerment programs working there.
We are looking for an experienced and resourceful person with a positive "CAN DO" attitude to join the team as our:
PARTNERSHIP & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
The Partnership & Business Development Manager is responsible for the resource mobilization and developing funding partnerships. Also responsible for developing and implementing a business development and fundraising strategy including establishing the infrastructure to grow the current annual revenue stream through e.g. solicitation, government grants, competitive bids and corporate and foundation support.
THE QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCES:
Master's qualification in international development, program management, social sciences, or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline combined with substantive work experience will be considered.
Minimum 10 years of working experience, preferably in NGO or development sector.
Successful track record of securing multiple funding from bilateral and multilateral donors, trusts, foundations, or philanthropy networks. Specific experience securing significant funding from institutional donors.
Significant expertise in all areas of new business development including forging partnerships or consortiums, negotiating partnership agreements, project design, logframe development, proposal writing, and budget development.
Directly relevant experience in leading the development of proposals submitted in partnerships with other organisations as either the primary applicant or a sub-contractor.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Indonesian and English.
Strong logic, analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse complex issues, develop hypotheses and recommend solutions.
Proven relationship building skills and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide variety of people and organizations.
Ability to work with flexibility, efficiency, enthusiasm, diplomacy, and cultural sensitivity, both individually and as part of a team and adjust to shifting priorities: a "CAN DO" attitude.
