Rumah Energi was established in 2012 in the social and humanitarian fields. The organization is mandated to contribute and create positive impacts on poverty alleviation, strengthening the livelihood of grassroots' communities, building communities' capacity on adaptation and mitigation to climate change and assisting in disaster risk reduction through innovation and shared knowledge. Our flagship program is the Indonesia Domestic Biogas Program (BIRU). YRE has facilitated the provision of benefits and impacts to 191,085 beneficiaries in 20 provinces across Indonesia. 36,294 household get acces to renewable energy , 29, 946 practice the sustainable agriculture, 312 local partner including Micro Finance Institutions, SMEs and universities. YRE has been diversifying its program portofolios into food security, business incubation, water access and conservation and Green Cooperative programs. In 2023, Rumah Energi has also completed projects related to water conservation and social business incubation for cacao farmers. Other projects that are currently being carried out include: the Pro Women for Renewable Energy Project, "Local Milk Sourcing" Project, "Building the Foundation for Local Cooperatives as Agents of Change in Sustainable Micro Financing" Project and "Local Cooperatives as Agents of Change for Climate Change Adaptation" Project.
Since 2022, YRE together with its partners implementing a 3 (three) year project named the Local Milk Sourcing ("LMS") Project in Central Java, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) and East Java. The LMS Project's objective is to strengthen the economic, social and environmental resilience of local dairy farmers through in-depth Good Farming Practice trainings, procurement of goods and services, installation of biodigesters and small-scale pilot activities. The 3 (three) year project will empower 480 dairy farmers in Central Java, DIY and East Java as direct beneficiares and 1,479 indirect beneficiaries. The project aims to strengthen the resilience of local dairy farmers by increasing dairy productivity, increase capacity of local dairy cooperatives and farmers in Good Farming Practices, improving environmental management through biogas installation and carry out small-scale piloting initiatives to improve farmers work efficiency in dairy production and quality.
Responsibilities and Task
Field Facilitator primary responsibilities are to support implementation of the project in the field and provide intensive assistance to assisted farmers. The Field Facilitator will be under the direct supervision of the Project Manager.
The Field Facilitator will be tasked with the following duties:
- Conduct regular visits to assisted farmers
- Conducting training, coaching and identifying the problems of fostered breeders, finding root causes, providing solutions and implementing solutions to increase farmer productivity
- Provide learning assistance to selected beneficiaries in understanding modules and assignments during the learning process.
- Assist the Project Manager in developing and implementing the program strategy
- Conducting regular mentoring sessions and provide trouble shooting assistance related to the accompaniment program
- Coordinate with partners in carrying out training and assistance to assisted farmers
- Collect data from farmers for monitoring and evaluation purposes
- Facilitate socialization and introduction of the project to relevant villages and targeted farmers.
- Provide orientation and series of trainings to assisted farmers.
- Assist assisted farmers and their groups to continuously increase the quantity and quality of the milk produced in their farm.
- Supports the provision of logistics & procurement of the project.
- Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management
Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
The Field Facilitator is expected to have the following qualifications:
- Educational background of a Bachelor's degree or work background in the field of animal husbandry/dairy cattle/veterinary medicine ·
- At least 5 years of experience working in project and community development and at least 3 years experiences in the same position.
- Having experience working with NGO/donor program/CSR is a plus
- Have driving license (C & A) and be able to drive in mountainous terrain
- Knowing the area of Boyolali, Klaten, Yogyakarta, Semarang or Blitar, Malang, Pasuruan is a plus
- Exhibit cultural sensitivity including the ability communicate in Javanese
- Have the ability to operate Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Have negotiation and managerial skills
- Proactive and able to work together in a team
- Good analytical skill, well informed about methods to capture change/results of project implementation
- Good in speaking and writing English (Preferably)
- Good interpersonal communication and facilitation skills for mentoring and knowledge sharing
- Possess good judgement to deal with conflict
- Able to work both in team and independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure and to multi-task
Term of employment
The appointment is a full-time position of 40 hours per week. The position will be based in Central Java with frequent travel to Yogyakarta and East Java.
