SurfAid is a non-profit organization which aims to improve the health, wellbeing and self-reliance of people living in isolated regions connected to us through surfing. SurfAid is currently working in a few locations in Indonesia: Mentawai Island District in West Sumatera, and Sumba Barat and Rote Ndao Districts in NTT. We work in the areas that are considered the most remote, with limited infrastructure and few community empowerment programs working there.
SurfAid will launch the ONE ROTE MALOLE Program in October 2025, targeting communities in six villages across four sub-districts in Rote Ndao to provide an integrated program consisting of sustainable access to clean water and sustainable nutrition agriculture.
We are looking for an experienced and resourceful person with a positive "CAN DO" attitude to join the team as our:
PROGRAM MANAGER
As part of the Programs Team, the Program Manager One Rote Malole is responsible for managing the strategic development, implementation and successful delivery of the SurfAid One Rote Malole Programme in line with SurfAid values and donors' expectations.
THE PERSON:
You are a leader with strong coordination, team management, and communication skills, with experience in implementing all program/ project management cycles. You will be based in a remote area for a long period of time and required to spend 60% of your work time to travel to the village to support your field team, therefore your willingness to travel in basic conditions is highly expected. It would be great if you are used to working with small organizations, as you are required to be hands-on as necessary to engage in improving the system.
THE QUALIFICATION :
Minimum a bachelor degree of relevant majors, with 7 years of experience in managing development programs/projects, some of which are in remote areas
Minimum 5 years of Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH) project experiences and in community mobilisation such as PHAST and/or CLTS
Experience in all phases of the program/project management cycle
Good knowledge or familiarity with public health, MCH, nutrition, or water sanitation topics
Familiar with technical drawings with AutoCADs, or other etc.
Writing skills for reporting both in English and Bahasa Indonesia
Strong people management skill
Independent manager with "CAN DO"- attitude
Analytical skills, strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
Clear communication in Bahasa Indonesia and English
Computer literate
