Dear Potential Bidders,
Nutrition International (NI) has been supporting the Ministry of Health (MoH), Government of Indonesia (GoI) in implementing Weekly Iron and Folic Acid (WIFA) supplementation and adolescent nutrition interventions for school-going adolescent girls since 2015. The adolescent nutrition program in Indonesia is a multisectoral intervention through the School Health Program (UKS/M), involving four ministries: Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC), Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) and Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA). In 2015-2018, NI conducted a demonstration of WIFAS program in two districts (Cimahi and Purwakarta) of West Java and then in 2019-2024, NI continued its support to scale up the WIFAS program in two provinces of West Java and Banten with a change in the program strategies. Further, NI will be focusing its support to GoI to strengthen the implementation of adolescent nutrition program and adherence of adolescent girls in consuming WIFA tablet in West Java province.
An endline survey to evaluate the coverage and adherence of on-going schools of adolescent girls consumed by the WIFAS in Banten and West Java provinces has been completed in January 2025. Results, findings and recommendations from the survey will be shared with the Provincial Health Office (PHO) in Banten and West Java. After successfully supporting the implementation of the program, Nutrition International is planning to organize a sustainability planning and advocacy meeting in Banten province. This meeting will be used as a platform for advocacy with the multi-stakeholder at national, province and district level to ensure that the program budget for WIFAS program is adequately included in the government planning processes for sustainability.
In addition, NI will continue its support to strengthen the implementation of the Adolescent Nutrition program including improving the adherence of adolescent girls to consume the WIFAS in West Java as a focused province.
Further, NI seeks a suitable agency to organize and manage the logistics and execution of the following activities:
- Sustainability planning and advocacy meeting on NI's WIFAS technical assistance program in Banten province to share the experiences and results of the NI supported WIFAS program; discuss plans for sustainability and advocate to the government to allocate adequate budget to support this program.
- AHN Annual Program Review Meetings in West Java province to review the ongoing program and develop implementation action plan for next year.
