Coordinates financial/accounting operations, including overall financial monitoring and support/guidance to projects in finance and operations staff, to ensure the fiscal well-being of the organization. Provides financial management and guidance, conducts analyses of financial data, provides budget analyses for project funds, and reviews and prepares required reports to funding agencies to ensure compliance with the donor's requirements. The incumbent is responsible to conduct financial accounting duties and provide support to the Finance Unit of the STRIDES project and FHI 360 Indonesia office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes, budget forecasts, regulatory filings and compiles moderately complex data.
- Interprets, analyzes and/or evaluates data, ensures compliance with applicable Indonesia statutes, and uses Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP).
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with internal project team, consultants, and management.
- Interprets and provides explanation for discrepancies and variations in financial data.
- Prepare monthly financial close reports, including bank reconciliations, to submit to Corporate Accounting each month.
- Ensure all financial transactions for assigned portfolio of district-based activities, oversight to ensure transactions are recorded timely into the accounting system and reviewed for accuracy and completeness.
- Responsible for tax calculation and compliance of STRIDES project including tax calculation for non-employees.
- Documents complex issues and effectively articulates written conclusions.
- Interacts with staff officials and executives.
- Uses financial systems to produce reports, financial models and databases.
- Work closely with technical and procurement team to support STRIDES project activities.
- Develops or adapts new financial processes and procedures based upon changes in corporate policies, laws and regulations.
- Recommends and develops internal accounting and finance regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Support Finance Manager to ensure compliance of STRIDES project to FHI 360 financial policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field.
- 5 - 8 Years of progressively responsible accounting, finance and operational management, and experience in a government contracting environment.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet software required.
- Prior experience working on USG programs and working in an international NGO environment.
- Deltek Costpoint enterprise software system experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of office software, including Word and Excel.
- Must be well organized, self-starter with attention to detail.
- Must be able to work well within a team.
- Experience working as external auditor for minimum 2 years is an advantage.
- Must have excellent communication skills and good command in both written and spoken Bahasa Indonesian and English.
