In Indonesia, GIZ’s Energy Transition Cluster / Energy Programme Indonesia acts as trusted partner and technical advisor to the Government of Indonesia for the transition towards a sustainable energy system.
The Energy Transition Cluster of GIZ Indonesia works across five thematic areas:

The Private Sector Advisor will be part of the Private Sector Cooperation Unit, which provides services to catalyse collaborations with private sector entities including companies, industry associations, financiers, philantrophies, etc. on various energy topics across projects under GIZ Energy Programme Indonesia. The stakeholders are coming both from Indonesia as well as from Germany and other international partners to achieve a sustainable, just, and inclusive energy transition in Indonesia.
GIZ seeks one (1) motivated and qualified Indonesian candidate for:
Advisor – Private Sector Engagement
(Job title in SAP: Advisor)
A. Task and Responsibilities
- Identify and build strategic partnership and cooperation with businesses, associations, institutions or others in Indonesia for realising CO2 emission reductions and scalable investments for energy efficiency and renewable energy application in the refrigeration sector.
- Devise concepts and activities for mobilising and securing private sector contributions for climate-friendly energy application in Indonesia’s commercial and industrial sectors.
- Maintain partnerships with stakeholders from public and private entities in the energy transition sector, both global and local.
- Prepare and finalize cooperation agreements, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and integrated development partnerships in coordination with GIZ legal and project management units, ensuring compliance with organisational standards.
- Coordinate with communication specialists for reporting and communication, including evaluation surveys, success stories, activity summaries, photos/quotes, media monitoring and press releases, and updates for internal and external reports.
- Support capacity development efforts, including planning training activities and coordinating with partner institutions and advisors.
- Actively support safeguarding GIZ from risks via screening of news, various media, and running background checks on selected private sector entities, while ensuring compliance based on existing legal standards in Indonesia and Germany.
- Represent the Energy Programme in relevant fora and maintain close liaison with the Private Sector Cooperation Unit to contribute to an integrated approach for delivering clean energy solutions beyond project boundaries.

B. Required qualifications, competences and experience
Qualifications
- University degree (Master’s preferred) in economics or engineering
- 5 years of professional experience in technical sales or other fields
- Track record in project management with multiple stakeholders leading to tangible results
- Experience in business development, marketing, and/or sales
- Basic techno-economic understanding of industrial projects
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English
- Stakeholder management, conceptual and strategic thinking skills
