1.                     Background

 

As part of SOLUSI capacity-building efforts, the project has developed a series of technical training modules covering sustainable agriculture, fisheries, and inclusive business development. To enhance usability, accessibility, and learning effectiveness, SNV seeks to engage a skilled Graphic Design Consultant to support the visual development and layout design of training modules under the SOLUSI Project.

 

This assignment is a continuation of the training module development process previously undertaken within the SOLUSI Project. The selected consultant is expected to maintain consistency with the established visual identity, branding guidelines, and design style adopted in earlier modules while further improving the overall quality and user experience of the training materials.

 

2.                     Objectives

 

The objective of this assignment is to design visually engaging, user-friendly, and professionally formatted training modules that support effective learning and knowledge transfer for SOLUSI project beneficiaries and stakeholders.

 

3.                     Scope of Work

 

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

 

•  Development of Visual Templates and Design Assets:

Design a set of standardized visual templates for training modules to ensure consistency across all SNV projects. This includes layouts for covers, section headers, content pages, and annexes, which can be reused and customized as needed.

 

•  Copyediting and Content Structuring Support:

Support light copyediting and content structuring (layout and formatting) to improve the readability and flow of materials, ensuring that visuals complement and enhance the technical content.

 

•  Review and Revisions:

Make revisions and adjustments to draft materials based on feedback from SNV’s Knowledge Management Officer and relevant project teams, ensuring high-quality final products.

 

•  Brand and Visibility Compliance:

Ensure all products adhere to SNV’s branding guidelines, as well as donor and partner visibility requirements. This includes the appropriate use of logos, fonts, color schemes, and other branding elements.

 

•  Accessibility and Inclusivity:

In collaboration with the Knowledge Management Officer, ensure that all materials produced are accessible and appropriate for diverse stakeholders, including vulnerable and marginalised groups.

 

•  Collaboration and Coordination:

Maintain regular communication and coordination with the Knowledge Management Officer and relevant technical teams to ensure alignment with content objectives, timelines, and quality standards.

 

4.                     Deliverables

Expected deliverables to be submitted as per timeframe are as follows. The deliverables for design are expected to be submitted via email or any cloud platform:

5.                     Qualifications

 

Applicants may apply as individuals or as a group/collective of designers with complementary skills. The selected candidate(s) should meet the following qualifications:

·  Education and experience:

o A degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Arts, or a related field.

o Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in graphic design, preferably in the development, non-profit, or educational sectors.

o Demonstrated experience in designing training materials, knowledge products, or communication tools for development or donor-funded projects is highly desirable.

 

·  Technical skills:

o Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and other relevant tools.

o Strong skills in visual layout, typography, illustration, infographics, and formatting for both digital and print outputs.

o Ability to adapt existing content into engaging, visually appealing formats tailored to different audiences and project contexts.

 

·  Communication and collaboration:

o Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with technical and non-technical team members.

o Ability to interpret technical content and transform it into clear, accessible, and user-friendly visual materials.

 

·  Attention to detail and quality:

o High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and branding consistency.

o Familiarity with donor visibility, branding, and accessibility standards.

 

·  Additional assets:

o Experience working with international organizations or NGOs.

o Familiarity with SNV’s thematic areas (agri-food, energy, water) is an advantage.

o Understanding of inclusive design principles and accessibility (e.g., for low-literacy or vulnerable groups) is a plus.

7.                     Service period

The starting date is expected from September 2026. The service period is until 31 January 2027.

 

8.                     Reporting line

The Service Provider will report to the Knowledge Management Officer, and work in close coordination with relevant Project Managers and Advisors.

 

9.                     Payment terms

Payment will be made on output-basis against submission and approval of assigned deliverables on monthly basis for the period of service.

 

10.                 Submission
