[newdevjobsindo] RFP D1-LSFF: Development of National Training Module for Rice Millers & FRK Producers_REPOST

Dear Potential Bidders,

Nutrition International (NI) has been actively supporting Large-Scale Food Fortification (LSFF) initiatives in Indonesia, with a focus on salt iodization, rice fortification, and wheat flour fortification. NI provides technical assistance to strengthen enabling environments for fortification, including policy and regulatory monitoring, standard setting, quality assurance systems, and multi-stakeholder coordination mechanisms. In collaboration with government counterparts and partners, NI contributes evidence-based inputs to support the design and implementation of fortification programs and monitoring systems. These efforts contributed to improved effectiveness, quality, and sustainability of LSFF programs, as part of broader strategies to address micronutrient deficiencies in Indonesia.

Rice fortification is increasingly recognized as an effective strategy to address micronutrient deficiencies and improve the nutritional quality of staple foods. As Indonesia explores opportunities to expand the production and utilization of fortified rice, strengthening the capacity of rice millers and Fortified Rice Kernel (FRK) producers becomes essential to ensure product quality, food safety, operational efficiency, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations. The production of fortified rice requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), robust Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) systems, and effective food safety management throughout the production process. Consistent implementation of these practices is critical to ensuring that fortified rice products meet technical specifications, maintain micronutrient content, and are safe for consumption. In addition, there is growing recognition that gender-responsive workplace practices contribute to more inclusive, equitable, and productive food systems. Integrating gender considerations into production operations, workforce development, occupational health and safety, and management practices can enhance participation, improve working conditions, and strengthen organizational performance.

To support the development of sustainable and high-quality fortified rice production systems, Nutrition International seeks to hire services of consultant/agency to develop training module for rice millers and FRK producers on producing fortified rice that complies with national standards.
