Vacancy - ASEAN YOUTH FORUM (Advocacy and Alliance Manager)
The ASEAN Youth Forum (AYF) is a regional movement that represents and advocates for young people human rights and freedoms in ASEAN. AYF has been a platform of the youth in the ASEAN to raise their voice and claim for their rights for a sustainable, inclusive, people-centered, and youth-driven regional community. The network aims to institutionalize and establish its national chapters to focus the engagement on important and timely local issues affecting Southeast Asian youth and consolidate policy proposals and agenda to put forward to the relevant ASEAN offices.
Currently, Asean Youth Forum is looking for enthusiastic candidates for the following position:
Advocacy and Alliance Manager
Key Roles:
1 Oversee advocacy works and maintaining alliances efforts
2. Develop and implement strategies to support AYF advocacy and alliances strategies
3. Develop and maintain broad and deep external partner relations with AYF's existing and developing alliances
4. Lead national and regional advocacy initiative in collaboration with AYF team, government partners, NGO alliance, and youth groups
5. Provide advice and expertise on advocacy analysis to the team
6. Play key role in developing and gathering evidence-based advocacy to address policy gap from the perspective of youth rights
7. Supervise a team consisting of specialist and/or officer and manages consultants when relevant
Key Skills:
Strong analytical skills, good communication skills both oral and written, strong diplomatic and nurturing alliances skills
Qualifications:
Possess a great understanding of youth activism and advocacy, a strong understanding of human rights and experiences in building alliances and advocacy works
