What we are looking for

 

We are looking for consultant who will produce a set of stories through an e-book that highlights journey, legacy and impact of I WIL project in Indonesia throughout 5 years. The contents are expected to increase the readers' knowledge and understanding of the magnitude, nature and/or origins of local GBV, Women Economic Empowerment (WEE), and Women in Leadership's (WIL) issues in Indonesia, and how I WIL has helped address them.

 

 

Background

 

Women in Indonesia experience lower literacy, smaller incomes, poor healthcare, political under-representation, and a high prevalence of violence against women and girls. The Indonesian Women in Leadership (I WIL) Project aims to support national and community civil society
organizations to promote gender equality by increasing women's economic empowerment, promoting women's political participation, decision making and leadership, and reducing violence against women and girls in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) provinces. The project direct targets women with fewer economic opportunities, men and women with disability, and women affected by violence, and engages with men, boys, and traditional and religious leaders to address harmful norms, attitudes and behaviors towards women and girls.

 

To date, I WIL has been running for four years (2018 – 2023) and is entering its fifth year. As the project will end year, I WIL team will produce a documentary video and subsequent multimedia content that spotlights the progress, achievements, lessons learned, and collective experience of I WIL project in Indonesia over the 5 years of project implementation.

 

To support this plan, Oxfam in Indonesia team will hire consultant who can capture IWIL journey & legacy that includes achievements, champion stories, lesson learned, and impact on people we work with. All contents will be based on the documentary video and all relevant multimedia materials that will be provided. This e-book will be presented to Oxfam in Indonesia's external stakeholders.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

Technical criteria:

 

  • Consultant team member have at least 5 years of experience as writers or working in the field of journalism and story-writing
  • Design member of the team should have at least 3 years of experience as visual designer (designing books, annual report, and other printed publication)
  • Have a sufficient and strong portfolio in documenting projects through written publications (story, books, e-books, articles, video scripts)
  • The consultant team has educational experience in the fields of social science, journalism and literature
  • Preference will be given to a team of consultants who are experienced in giving training in writing success stories, writing story of change for social change and advocacy.
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills in Indonesian and English
  • Font, design, and color patterns must match Oxfam's brand guidelines. The graphics must be presented in a joyful, optimistic, positive manner that look to a hopeful future

SUBMISSION AND EVALUATION OF PROPOSAL

 

Consultants meeting the above criteria are invited to submit a proposal by email to: hrjakarta@oxfam.org.uk with the subject line: "Proposal for Consultancy of IWIL E-book". Proposals should be received no longer than 31 January 2023. The body of the proposal should be no longer than 5 pages and should include the following:

  • A cover letter outlining relevant experience in producing e-book for NGO/similar projects, including experience working with NGO or GBV, WEE, and WIL projects.
  • A list of key activities, linked to the proposed activities, within a scheduled timeframe.
  • A staffing and management plan, including details of team composition and specific qualifications of key research staff.
  • A statement indicating the consultant availability for the duration of the contract and flexibility up to a one-month contract extension should delays arise due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The proposal should also include Annexes, which are not included in the 5-page limit, such as:

  • Company Profile/Portfolio of the consultant. Financial proposal which includes estimated budget, including revisions until agreed *Value-for-money will be an assessment criterion.
  • List of three (3) references who can attest to the team's experience and expertise
    (including phone numbers and email contacts).
  • CVs of the team members.
