Rikolto in Indonesia operates in Denpasar, Bali Province is the regional branch of Rikolto International, an international NGO with more than 40 years experience in partnering with farmer organisations and food chain stakeholders across Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America committed to developing sustainable agriculture value chains and food systems. 

Rikolto runs programmes in 15 countries worldwide through eight regional offices. We're a close-knit network of accessible and knowledgeable colleagues, willing to share experience and eager to inspire others.  

 

Rikolto soon will implement a project named "LASCARCOCO" in cooperation with Olam Food Ingredients (OFI). This project will be working in 3 main areas: North Sumatera, South Sulawesi and East Nusa Tenggara Province.  

The main objective of the 3-years (2023-2025) programme is to promote sustainable cocoa and coffee agroforestry practices that address both climate change mitigation and adaptation while improving smallholder farmer livelihoods. Specifically, LASCARCOCO's objectives are:   

(i) to improve environmental sustainability through agroforestry practices in cocoa and coffee-producing landscapes; and   

(ii) to improve the living conditions of rural communities through increased market access and climate change resilience.   

 

Therefore, we urgently looking a professional who is interested to work on this project and willing to contribute and grow in the development programme to fill the position as: 

 

MONITORING, EVALUATION & LEARNING (MEL) COORDINATOR

Based in Denpasar, Bali Province 

 

Position Overview 

MEL Coordinator is the person responsible to initiate, coordinating and implementing the monitoring, evaluation and learning activities for the LASCARCOCO project in 3 areas of intervention and ensuring that the MEL implementation follows the system, methodology/tools according to the guidance of Rikolto and donor and contribute to the M&E result of Rikolto globally.  

He/she is fully in charge of managing data collection, analyzing data, ensuring the quality of information and producing reports. The person is expected to actively improve the system and the methodologies independently and with support from the MEL International team. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Data Management and Reporting 

  • Developing data collection tools, and methodologies and providing guidelines and manuals according to project requirements 
  • Coordinating and ensuring data collection processes and results at both Rikolto and partners levels, in coordination with all respected programme team  
  • Ensuring the quality of the data and information.  
  • Analysing data and information for programme improvement and planning 
  • Develop and lead the MEL planning and reporting formats to the programme team and assist them to comprehend the formats when required. 
  • Produce and guarantee the quality of MEL reports of the programme and contribute to the programme report for the donors, and government, within the prescribed deadlines and according to the requirements. 

 

Learning and Innovation 

  • Periodically review the MEL system to ensure the coherence and continuous improvement of the overall system, its compatibility with the project change, new strategy  
  • Sharing information related to MEL from the implementation of activities or results of programme monitoring based on organizational provisions. 
  • Guiding programme team and partners on MEL system, tools, methods and any necessary guidelines in the execution of MEL activities 
  • Coordinating learning spaces and knowledge management initiatives. 
  • Identifying best practices in the reports and sharing them with the other relevant units (i.e Communication, programme development, …) for dissemination and in-depth documentation for studies. 

 

Team Collaboration 

  • Playing an exemplary role with respect to the values, and identity of Rikolto in Indonesia; ensuring compliance with the Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics in order to safeguard its organisational reputation. 
  • Closely working as a team towards shared objectives and contributing as well outside the own work field. 
  • Collaborate with other respected units to ensure adequate support for smooth programme operations.  

 

Rikolto's preference is to recruit resources from the local area/designated duty station mentioned above.
