CRS has been operating in Indonesia since 1957 under the Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Social Affairs to provide both humanitarian response and long-term development to the most vulnerable communities. CRS Indonesia's current strategy includes emergency preparedness and response, disaster risk reduction, housing, climate change adaptation and integrated agriculture and livelihoods. In line with its long-term country strategy, CRS Indonesia is looking to expand programming in the area of climate change in urban contexts. 

 

CRS/Indonesia is currently looking for Deputy Chief of Party, Operations, Job Code: DCOP-Ops. The position will be based in Jakarta and report to Chief of Party.

Note: This position is contingent upon donor approval and funding.

 

Job Summary:

CRS is seeking highly qualified Deputy Chief of Party, Operations (DCOP-Ops) candidates for an anticipated 5-year USAID funded program aimed to improve urban climate and disaster resilience in Indonesia.  This will be accomplished by supporting the Government of Indonesia (GOI); working directly with communities and the private sector; and helping key stakeholders.  The program will pursue two main objectives 1) improved subnational environmental governance; and 2) private sector environmental and social sustainability in supply chains related to agriculture, forestry, and extractive industries.

The DCOP-Ops will oversee the project's administrative, financial, and operations activities under the direction of the COP and in coordination with other senior project staff and assigned operations staff. You will lead the project's day-to-day financial and administrative activities and ensure overall compliance with USAID rules and regulations, financial management, personnel recruitment and management, and subcontractor and grants management. The DCOP will have a firm understanding of programmatic aspects of the project in the context of evolving political, legal, and economic contexts and contribute to a continuous adaptive management approach.

Qualifications

·         Master's degree or other advanced degree in relevant international development, business administration, finance or other relevant field combined with a minimum of 5 years of experience with USAID-funded projects.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting complex contracts and agreements, USAID operating procedures, regulations, and reporting requirements is required
  • Proven ability to leverage and manage partnership and cooperate with host country governments and international partners in implementing donor-funded projects preferred. Experience working with the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry and BAPPENAS preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting, developing, and managing staff, as well as experience managing programmatic and financial reporting.

 

Required Languages Proficient in English, both spoken and written, with fluency in Bahasa Indonesia preferred. 

Travel - Must be willing and able to travel up to 40 %.
