The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is a New York-based international conservation organization currently working in more than 60 countries worldwide. WCS has a distinguished history of scientists exploring and saving wildlife in some of the most remote and wild places remaining on Earth. The Wildlife Conservation Society Indonesia Program (WCS-IP) was founded in the early 1990s and has contributed substantially to support the Government of Indonesia in the conservation of biodiversity in Indonesia.
To achieve its mission, WCS Indonesia Program work in close coordination with MoEF and through associated partnerships with a variety of government, non-government, private sector, and academic bodies. To deliver our new country strategy, we are structured under five core thematic programs — Forests, Marine, Wildlife Trade and Policy, One Health, and Rights + Communities. These programs are supported by cross-cutting units of Science & Technology and Conservation Network and Partnership.
To support CNP Unit ensuring WCS-IP has effective internal and external communications processes which maintain coherence inside the organization and raises the profile of the organization and its partners externally, a Digital Repository and Outreach Senior Officer is needed to advance the WCS-IP conservation agenda through targeted, innovative communications that reach and catalyze change in key constituencies. The Digital Repository and Outreach Senior Officer will be contributed – under the supervision of Conservation Network and Partnership (CNP) Unit Manager – in building and maintaining a repository as part of knowledge management to support impactful digital outreach across key external online and offline communications channels; delivering compelling stories and events that reinforce conservation work, while supporting regular and efficient sharing and exchange of knowledge.
- Assist the CNP Unit Manager in preparing the design of the repository system with digital technology, internet, and NAS for the development of a digital storage system.
- Responsible for preparing data flow schemes along with SOPs that support the developed repository system.
- Build and ensure the data storage and management infrastructure of WCS-IP communication asset, including storage, servers, and user interface applications.
- Ensure the repository system is running properly and effectively.
- Assist the CNP Unit Manager in the development of communication and outreach strategies using visual and audio-visual materials by utilizing various online and offline communication platforms and channels to reach audiences who are the main target audience of WCS-IP.
- Responsible for the design and production of visual and audio-visual communication materials, which will be distributed through digital and other media offline and online.
- Ensure the implementation of communication and outreach activities that utilize digital communication assets in the production and distribution of communication materials through various online and offline communication platforms and channels to reach audiences who are the main target audiences of WCS-IP.
- Ensure the management of the website and social media accounts as WCS-IP's digital media and internal communication activities through regular sharing of knowledge and information between programs and units within WCS-IP.
- Contribute and be active in the production of visual and audio-visual communication materials in the form of short videos, e-posters, and other material designs to be distributed in digital media in the form of uploads, posts, stories, reels, to strengthen audience outreach through social media and the WCS-IP website.
- Responsible for monitoring the website and social media managed by WCS-IP as a data base and material for analyzing the reach of communication materials using digital media.
- The availability of a collection of photos from coverage, designs, and illustrations that can be used to produce visual communication materials.
- Database of photos, illustrations and other visual communication products managed.
- Availability of communication asset repository system for KFW BMU and EU projects - in collaboration with PCU.
- Establishment internal utilization of a digital communication repository system.
- Document the communication strategy and communication plan needed to achieve the KFW EU and BMU projects (in collaboration with the marine program and PCU).
- WCS-IP communication and outreach strategy document using visual and audio-visual materials utilizing various communication platforms and channels.
- Number of visual and audio-visual communication materials assisted/produced for WCS-IPs utilizing communication assets such as video footage, interview recordings, and other materials managed in the repositories system.
- Number of communication and outreach activities utilizing communication assets assisted with implementation.
- At least 24 posts on social media during the year
- Availability of data and analysis of the reach of materials uploaded on digital media per month and year.
- At least three initiatives/campaigns organized per year
- Data analyzing material outreach and outreach activities of KFW EU project - to meet target outcomes (in collaboration with PCU)
- Data analyzing material outreach and activities to fulfil WCS-IP country strategy KPI outreach targets
- English (oral/written)
- Knowledge management, repository and IT literate
- Communication skill including design and visual communication, editing, social media engagement, public relations
- Bachelor degree on Communication, Literature, Sociology, or other social science.
- Four years working experience in knowledge management and repository, marketing communication, awareness campaign, behavior change communication, public affairs, and media relations.
