The Junior Energy Planning and Partnership Advisor provides technical and strategic support to the Indonesian government as part of the Energy Programme which seeks to streamline relevant advisory work towards Indonesian ministries across all energy projects.
We seek one (1) motivated and qualified Indonesian candidate for:
Junior Energy Planning & Partnership Advisor
A. Tasks & Responsibilities
- Under the guidance of the Sustainable Energy Finance Lead, as member of the SEF Unit under the German Indonesian Energy Team, contribute to an integrated, programmatic approach for delivering policy advisory work to our partners beyond project boundaries.
- Support the design and implement technical and strategic advisory and capacity development activities tailored to the demand of the political partner(s) and with the aim to accelerate the Indonesian energy transition.
- Advise and support the political partner on the implementation of energy planning (KEN, RUEN, RPJPN/RPJMN, RKP, Renstra ESDM, etc) and improving the partnership framework for the energy transition towards a sustainable energy system.
- Support the conceptualization, design, preparation, organization, facilitation and documentation of events, workshops and conferences.
- Support the conceptualization of Terms of Reference for the procurement of external consultants and subsequent steering of external international and local consultants.
- Write, revise and review reports, brochures, policy briefs and recommendations for in and external audiences, and other documents ensuring high quality outputs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the political partner and other relevant public and private sector stakeholders.
- Contribute from your field of expertise to the GIZ portfolio development, including the participation in the preparation of new project concepts.

While the position is anchored to the project "CASE (Clean Affordable and Secure Energy for SEA) in Indonesia", which runs until 27.02.2027, you support the Energy Transition Cluster and projects within the Energy Transition cluster.
- Qualifications
- University's degree in economics, law, engineering, public policy, political science, energy environment or similar relevant field.
- At least 2 years working experience in renewable energy and energy efficiency, development cooperation and/or energy policy making.
- Deep understanding of the Indonesian power sector as well as its actors.
- Strong network in the Indonesian energy transition topics.
- Stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills (English and Bahasa Indonesia).
- Outstanding conceptual and strategic thinking skills.
- Previous experience in procurement and steering of external international and consultants.
