In Indonesia, GIZ's Energy Programme Indonesia acts as trusted partner and technical advisor to the Government of Indonesia for the transition towards a sustainable energy system.
The Energy Transition Cluster of GIZ Indonesia works across five thematic areas:

The Finance and Policy Advisor shall provide technical and strategic advice to the Indonesian government as part of the Energy Programme which seeks to streamline policy and finance advisory work towards Indonesian ministries across all energy projects.
We seek one (1) motivated and qualified Indonesian candidate for:
Energy Transition Decarbonization Finance & Policy Advisor
A. Tasks & Responsibilities
- Under the guidance of the Sustainable Energy Finance Lead, as member of the SEF Unit under the German Indonesian Energy Team, contribute to an integrated, programmatic approach for delivering advisory works to our partners beyond project boundaries.
- Design and implement technical and strategic advisory and capacity development activities tailored to the demand of the political partner(s) and with the aim to accelerate the Indonesian energy transition.
- Advise and support the political partner on the development of integrated policies, financial mechanism and improving the strategic framework for the power sector decarbonization and sustainable energy finance integration.
- Monitor and analyze current and new relevant legislation and regulations in Indonesia and globally as well as their impact as basis for the advisory work.
- Conceptualization of Terms of Reference for the procurement of external consultants and subsequent steering of external international and local consultants, including designing preparation, organization, facilitation and documentation of related events, workshops and conferences.
- Write, revise and review reports, brochures, reports and recommendations for in and external audiences, and other documents ensuring high quality outputs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the political partner and other relevant public and private sector stakeholders, including act as knowledge expert to high-level government representatives (Indonesian and German) and other relevant stakeholders in various formats.
- Contribute from your field of expertise to the GIZ portfolio development, including the participation in the preparation of new project concepts.

- Qualifications
- Master's degree in economics, law, engineering, public finance and policy, political science, energy environment or similar relevant field
- At least 5 working experiences in renewable energy and energy efficiency, development cooperation and/or energy policy, finance, and or fiscal making
- Deep understanding of the Indonesian power sector decarbonization as well as its actors
- Strong network in the Indonesian power sector
- Stakeholder management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills (English and Bahasa Indonesia)
- Outstanding conceptual and strategic thinking skills
- Previous experience in procurement and steering of external international and consultants
