ASEAN Municipal Solid Waste Enhancement (AMUSE) project supported by the Federal Government of Germany through GIZ in close cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) aims to contribute to improve environmental quality in medium-sized cities in the ASEAN region through strengthening the competences for optimizing waste disposal and recycling in small and medium-sized tourist cities.
In 2023, AMUSE and Reduce, Reuse, Recycle to Protect the Marine Environment and Coral Reefs (3RproMar) projects supported the ASEAN Eco-School Awards as part of their commitment to environmental education. Building on this engagement, GIZ is supporting the review and improvement of the existing ASEAN Guidelines on Eco-Schools, and their presentation at the ASEAN Workshop.
