Assignment:               Fixed-term national employment agreement

Duration:                    12 months, with the possibility of a contract extension

Location:                    Jakarta, with possibility of travelling to provinces

Widya Erti Indonesia is focusing on the education, agriculture, and community development sector by providing learning opportunities and empowering rural marginal communities to responsibly and sustainably care for the environment. WEI project areas are in Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Java, and other part of Indonesia, with the head office located in Jakarta.

 

Objective:

Technology-driven IT Support who integrates technical acumen with problem-solving expertise to expand IT operations. Solid knowledge in information system and communication network maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, administrative support, and user management. Highly effective team player, with proven success in quality control, customer service, technical support, and operations analysis.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The IT Officer is based in Jakarta and reports directly to the People and Culture Development Manager. The Officer is responsible for managing and providing leadership in the design, development, integration and maintenance of all project computers and information systems in Jakarta and regional offices. S/he ensures that all project systems are compatible with and linked WEI Office and Client systems, as appropriate. The responsibilities of the IT Officer include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain computer systems and servers, including trouble-shooting computer software and hardware problems and preparing computers for use by staff;
  • Ensure security and integrity of all project data storage and computer systems;
  • Ensure project equipment and applications, including off-the-shelf applications, systems, and software, are up-to-date;
  • Monitor server and network performance, including hardware and software usage patterns and modify network configuration to ensure maximum efficiency and security; 
  • Identify training needs and instruct staff on use of computer programs and applications, including written instructions on the use of systems, software and hardware;
  • Draft IT policies, procedures, and systems are updated and secure;
  • Manage IT assets of the program
  • Maintain Program Database
  • Manage communication between the WEI Office and IT Client;
  • Other duties consistent with the overall focus of the assignment as assigned by the People and Culture Development Manager

 

Selection Criteria (Qualification):

Essential:

 

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is often required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in IT support or a similar role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and sometimes Linux.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts like LAN/WAN, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365, including tools like Teams and OneDrive, and user account management in Active Directory.
  • Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware like desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Knowledge of basic cybersecurity best practices and data protection principles.
  • Professional certifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • A customer-oriented mindset with patience and a positive attitude towards helping users.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
