The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations. Its corporate objective is to improve people’s living conditions on a sustainable basis.
As the central point of contact for the private sector, the Agency for Business and Economic Development (AWE), together with its global network of advisors, supports companies, business associations and social partners in identifying cooperation and funding within German development cooperation.
In Indonesia, AWE works closely with private-sector partners as well as bi- and multilateral programmes to develop project ideas and support their implementation. Through the Partners in Transformation Desk (PiT) SEA, AWE helps connect local market needs and development priorities in Indonesia with German and European private-sector solutions, particularly in areas such as renewable energy and energy efficiency, circular economy, sustainable mobility, skills development, and cooperation with the German private sector.
To support this work, GIZ is currently recruiting one (1) Indonesian candidate for the following position:
A. Core Tasks
In your role you are responsible for the technical, substantive and organisational implementation of a project's measures and activities. In consultation with your line manager, you also assume tasks related to planning, steering and monitoring the project, including project administration tasks in some cases. You are also responsible for providing specialist support to col- leagues in bands 2 and 3 and ensure the quality of the commission's outcomes.
In addition, you contribute to the conceptual design of the project, in particular its modification or realignment.
You make technical and substantive contributions to overarching issues in cooperation with commissioning parties/clients, partners and other actors and thereby support the achievement of the agreed objectives of the respective project and provide impetus for further strategy development.
In coordination with the country director and your line manager, you also use your contacts for the acquisition of contracts on behalf of the company.
In consultation with your team colleagues and line manager, you also coordinate all issues within your area of work and ensure that they are dealt with promptly and competently. You resolve problems that arise in your area of responsibility on the basis of existing rules and draw attention to more complex challenges in your team.
You are involved in ongoing process development within your remit, are responsible for knowledge management and prepare and share documentation. If required, you also support other experts in familiarising themselves with and performing their tasks.
You perform the tasks assigned to you by your line manager, where required.
B. Main Activities
- Support the regional entry point for Partners in Transformation in Indonesia, advising German and European companies, business associations and social partners on cooperation opportunities with German development cooperation.
- Provide tailored advisory services on BMZ funding and financing instruments, supporting companies in identifying suitable instruments and developing project ideas with sustainable development impacts.
- Facilitate partnerships between private-sector actors and development cooperation structures
- Support the development and implementation of private-sector cooperation projects on the ground, including pilot measures, matchmaking formats, dialogue events and innovative partnership approaches.
- Identify and develop areas of mutual interest between Indonesian market’s needs, development priorities and German/European private-sector expertise, particularly in sustainable energy, circular economy, sustainable mobility, skills development and climate and resource efficiency.
- Support the strengthening of strategic positioning of private-sector cooperation within GIZ Indonesia and the regional Southeast Asia portfolio, including internal advisory support, coordination with cluster focal persons, capacity development, knowledge management and contribution to country-level approaches for private-sector engagement.

- Qualifications
- University degree (master’s preferred) in economics, marketing, business administration or a similar relevant field
- Sound knowledge in GIZ-specific administrative processes and requirements
- At least three years of experience in advising businesses and private/sector organisations on topics as marketing/business development, international cooperation development/management
- Track record in project management with multiple stakeholders leading to tangible results
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (at least C1 level)
- Sound knowledge of BMZ programmes and support instruments for the private sector
