The Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) Delivery Unit (JDU) supports the Government of Indonesia and JETP partners in accelerating the implementation of Indonesia’s energy transition priorities. The JDU serves as a coordination and delivery support mechanism, with a focus on supporting the advancement of priority projects/programmes, facilitating coordination among relevant stakeholders and identifying implementation bottlenecks.
Within this framework, the JDU works closely with government institutions, international development partners, financial institutions, project developers, and other relevant stakeholders to support the realization of Indonesia’s energy transition agenda. The JDU also supports knowledge management, progress monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and strategic communication to enhance transparency and facilitate effective coordination across JETP - related activities.
The JETP Delivery Unit contributes to the broader transition from the initial establishment and planning phase of JETP towards an implementation-oriented approach. Key areas of work include supporting the advancement of renewable energy deployment, project and programme realization, financing mobilization, coordination of technical assistance, and communication of progress and results.
We seek one (1) motivated and qualified Indonesian candidate for:
Trainee on Project Management Assistance
The Trainee on Project Management Assistance will support the JETP Delivery Unit’s team in the planning, coordination, monitoring, documentation, and communication of JETP-related activities. The position offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in project management within an international development cooperation environment and to develop an understanding of how a multi-stakeholder energy transition programme is coordinated and implemented. The trainee will work closely with the JDU Coordinator and team members and will contribute to the effective organization, documentation, and communication of the JDU’s activities and results.
The aim of the traineeship with the JETP Delivery Unit is to provide the trainee with practical insight into the workings of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), international development cooperation, and the implementation of a complex energy transition programme involving government institutions, development partners, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
As part of the learning process, the trainee will work closely with and assist the JDU team in the following areas:
- Support the preparation of JETP project progress reports and updates
- Support event preparation, speaker coordination, and participants follow-up
- Support the Comms Specialist for preparation of communication and presentation materials
- Assist with meeting documentation, meeting minutes, and action-plan tracking
- Support day-to-day coordination across JETP activities.
- Practical understanding of project coordination, reporting, documentation, and stakeholder engagement in an international development cooperation environment.
- Experience in supporting the planning and implementation of meetings, events, and other programme activities involving multiple stakeholders.
- Improved ability to prepare professional reports, presentations, communication materials, and other project-related documents.
C. Required qualifications, competences, and experience.
- Bachelor's degree (or final-year student) in Project Management, Public Policy, International Relations, Engineering, Communications, or other relevant disciplines.
- Previous internship or volunteering experience in development projects, NGOs, or research institutions is an advantage.
- Knowledge of sustainable development, energy transition, climate change, international development cooperation, or related concepts is desirable.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Good command of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Good command of English and Bahasa Indonesia (spoken and written).
- Ability to work in a team and to adapt to an intercultural working environment.
- Ability to work independently, proactively, and across multiple concurrent workstreams.

Working Hours: 5 working days per week, 8 working hours per day
